Notre Dame FCU opens Elkhart office

Notre Dame Federal Credit Union celebrated the grand opening of its new office in Elkhart.

The June 3 event included a ribbon cutting and a rite of blessing by Bishop Kevin Rhoades, of the Diocese of Ft. Wayne-South Bend.

“People over profit is more than a slogan we say, it’s how we do business,” said Tom Gryp, president and CEO of Notre Dame FCU, in a press release. “Bringing that commitment to Elkhart was a long-time coming, and is an exciting next chapter for us. We’re here to build relationships, not transactions.”

Notre Dame FCU Vice President Regional Area Manager Mireya Olvera, Chief Partnership Officer Robert Kloska, and the Elkhart Chamber also were on hand to share their excitement about the new location.

Notre Dame FCU also donated $1,000 to Catholic Charities as a show of its support of the community.

The branch at 101 S. Main St. includes a teller line and drive-up teller machines. The Elkhart mortgage center also is onsite.

The credit union also will feature bilingual staff and educational resources as part of its Juntos Avanzamos distinction. The national Inclusiv program recognizes credit unions that show dedication to Hispanic and immigrant communities.

Notre Dame FCU has more than 60,000 members and serves more than 900 groups but is independent from Notre Dame University. It was founded in 1941.
