CPA Lisa Human is on her way to the Thomson Reuters Partner Summit Thought Leadership event in Annapolis, Maryland, this August.
The senior manager and QuickBooks ProAdvisor with Michigan City-based CLH, CPAs & Consultants will be a guest panelist and speaker during the international organization’s partner summit.
Human will join other professionals in her industry from throughout the nation. They will discuss the trend toward accounting firms serving in a more advisory capacity.
“As our industry has evolved, we’re seeing more accounting firms pivot their offerings in an effort to get ahead of emerging topics for their clients,” Human said in a press release. “As CPAs, we can no longer afford to be reactive. We have to take a proactive approach to preserve the financial futures of the businesses and individuals we serve. And that’s a big part of the rise of advisory services in our industry.”
Human will talk about CLH’s transition from a traditional practice to a more advisory approach. She will offer best practices for other accounting firms wanting to make a similar transition.
“Making the transition to advisory services can be a bit of a challenge for accounting firms that are trying this for the first time,” Human said. “That’s why I’m very excited to share all CLH has learned with our accounting peers from throughout the country.”
CPA Tony Gillisse, a partner with CLH, said his firm is committed to sharing what they’ve learned.
“We’ve learned a great deal over the last few years about how to offer an increasing number of various advisory services to our clients,” Gillisse said. “Lisa’s involvement in this summit is a fantastic way for us to share knowledge and help other accounting companies in our industry grow their services.”
Human offers a range of services, including advising clients, and providing traditional accounting tasks like preparing tax returns and financial statements. She also oversees the payroll and bookkeeping departments.
The Thomson Reuters Partner Summit Thought Leadership events will take place in five cities. The Maryland event will take place Aug. 16-17. The company offers content and technology that helps professionals and institutions solve complex problems.
