Wright Industries in Goshen plans to move to a much larger facility next week to meet growing demand for its ambulances and other vehicles.
The company is investing $18 million in the former 12-building Wabash National Services plant.
The campus at 2672 E. Kercher Road includes 380,000-square-foot of space on 72 acres. The location offers plenty of room for the 250 jobs Wright Industries plans to create by 2028. New positions are expected to exceed average salaries in Elkhart County.
“Indiana, and specifically Goshen, offers the pro-business climate, talent pool and work ethic that gives us the confidence to invest in this community and grow Wright Industries, creating high-paying jobs and future opportunities for our employees, suppliers and dealers for generations to come,” said David Wright, CEO of Wright Industries.
Gov. Mike Braun announced the expansion Nov. 6.
“The company’s decision to grow in Elkhart County is a testament to our business climate and our workforce, and we look forward to hundreds of new jobs on the horizon,” Braun said.
Wright retired as co-CEO of Forest River Inc. in Elkhart in 2025. He had been with the company for more than 20 years. He took on the leadership role in late 2024 after founder Peter Liegl passed away. Liegl sold the company to Berkshire Hathaway in 2005 but remained its leader.
There he oversaw the acquisition of L.A. West, which introduced Forest River Bus & Van into the luxury market.
He founded Wright Industries in 2025. The company delivered its first ambulance in March. The company builds and designs ambulances with saving lives and service at its center.
Wright Industries is a division of Wright Capital Management, a venture capital and private equity firm. Its goal is to revitalize manufacturing operations in Northern Indiana.
