Elkhart Farmers Market opens 9th season

The Elkhart Farmers Market has become much more than a place to buy local produce. In the past two years, average attendance has almost tripled.

Its ninth season will open May 2 at Kardzhali Park, 301 NIBCO Parkway. The market will then be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through Sept. 26.

More than 2,000 shoppers visited the market each week in 2025. Shoppers buy produce, baked goods, flowers and plants, handcrafted items and more from an average of 50 vendors each week, according to 2025 averages.

“The growth we’ve seen over the past few years has been incredible,” says Farmers Market Manager Danielle Barber in a press release. “It’s become a weekly gathering place where people come to support local businesses, connect with the community, and enjoy everything downtown Elkhart has to offer.”

Almost 190 vendors participated last year.

The market's success partially can be attributed to a family-friendly atmosphere along the Elkhart Riverwalk. Music and themed days also draw crowds. Learn more about the market here.
