Business leaders start scholarship at Marian University Plymouth

Marian University Plymouth announced the creation of the Mark and Amanda Feldman Family Endowed Scholarship at its annual scholarship dinner.

The couple was honored for their support of the campus' students and greater Plymouth community.

Mark Feldman has worked in Crowe's audit and assurance services group for 20 years. He also has been a leader at the Marshall County Community Foundation and Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana.

Amanda Feldman has been the chief financial officer and executive vice president of First Federal Savings Bank for 20 years. She has been involved with Girls on the Run Michiana, One Marshall County and the Indiana Bankers Association.

“Mark and Amanda Feldman embody the values we believe in at Marian University,” said Natalie Tucker, vice president and academic dean, in a press release. “We are honored to establish a scholarship in their name, and the Feldman family, and our generous donors should take pride in knowing they are helping local students attend a mission-driven institution like Marian University Plymouth.”

University leaders also announced the Marian University Plymouth branding, which was created to show the university's commitment to higher education in Marshall County.

The evening also celebrated $317,500 raised for student scholarships. About 330 people attended the Oct. 2 dinner at Swan Lake Resort.

Marian University also recently announced a new leader based in Indianapolis. Kenith Britt, chief operating officer and chancellor of Marian University’s Indianapolis campus, will become president July 1. He will replace long-time President Daniel Elsener, who will transition to president emeritus.

Marian College was founded in 1851, and was renamed Marian University in 2009.
