Illinois-based Credit Union 1 has opened a new branch in South Bend.
The credit union hosted a ribbon cutting Oct. 19 at the branch at 1140 E. Howard St., Suite C1.
As part of its grand opening celebration, Credit Union 1 hosted a live broadcast with WSBT 960AM in the branch with veteran sportscaster and NFL and Notre Dame alum Mike Golic.
The credit union has partnered with Golic and The Golic Family Foundation to distribute $100,000 in grants to South Bend area nonprofits in 2023. Credit Union 1 also will donate $200 to The Golic Family Foundation for each Fighting Irish Program account.
