Hitachi Global Air Power buys Tennessee company

Hitachi Global Air Power acquired longtime Sullair distributor Mountain Air Compressor based in Bristol, Tennessee.

“We continue to look for strategic opportunities to better serve our customers,” said John Randall, Hitachi Global Air Power president and CEO, in a press release. “Mountain Air Compressor has been a strong distribution partner for many years and is a well-known and well-loved compressed air solutions provider in the Tennessee valley and beyond.”

Mountain Compressed Air, which offers sales and service of compressed air systems, was founded in 1994. It serves northeast Tennessee, West Virginia and parts of Virginia and southeast Ohio.

The company's leadership and employees will continue in their positions. Its name will stay the same.

“We have spent the last 29 years building our company around the premise of selling solutions and not products,” said Tom White, president of Mountain Air Compressor. “Joining a world-class company, with our same values will allow our work and our vision for our company to continue on in new and exciting ways.”

Michigan City-based Hitachi Global Air Power specializes in portable compressors that help build road and bridges, among other services. The company is part of the Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems Co., which has factories in Michigan City and Suzhou, China, and sales offices in Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and South and Latin America.
