David Nicole, a veteran United Way executive, will serve as interim president and CEO of the Lake Area United Way.
According to Nicole’s Linkedin profile he served as president and CEO of the United Way of Allen County in Fort Wayne between November 2014 and September 2019. He launched Headwinds Consulting in November 2019.
Before serving with the United Way of Allen County, Nicole was vice president resource development for the Trident United Way in Charleston, South Carolina between August 2001 and October 2014, according to his Linkedin profile.
Nicole will serve as the Lake Area United Way’s interim president and CEO as the board works on the next steps for the organization. The Lake Area United Way serves Lake County and is based in Griffith.
Nicole takes over for Lisa Daugherty, who served the post from January 2015 through February 2021. Daugherty left the Lake Area United Way to take over as president and CEO of the Center of Workforce Innovations in Valparaiso March 1.
The Lake Area United Way also announced Michael Jasaitis, an attorney with Austgen Kuiper Jasaitis P.C. in Crown Point, will take over as board chairman from Chris White, publisher of the Munster-based Times Media Co.
