The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau successfully earned reaccreditation from the Destination Marketing Accreditation Program.
The bureau first received accreditation from Destinations International five years ago. The CVB is among 200 organizations to obtain the designation.
“We are pleased to have the Elkhart County CVB maintain their participation in our distinguished group of accredited organizations,” said Don Welsh, president and CEO of Destinations International, in a press release. “The industry distinction defines quality and performance standards for destination organizations, and they are a valued member of the DMAP community.”
Destinations International has more than 10,000 members supporting 770 locations around the world. The reaccreditation was announced at the organization's 2026 annual convention July 21 in Portland, Oregon.
Destination organizations must comply with standards that lead to excellence in management and marketing, including:
- Governance
- Finance
- Human resources
- Sales
- Communications
- Destination development
- Research
“We work hard on behalf of the destination and our many partners, delivering services and programs that attract visitors to Elkhart County year-round and helping our entrepreneurs build their businesses,” said Jon Hunsberger, executive director of the Elkhart County CVB. “This DMAP reaccreditation confirms that we are achieving at the highest level in our industry.”
The Elkhart County CVB offers advertising, marketing and public relations services that help bring visitors to Elkhart County. The county's hospitality industry results in more than $850 million in economic impact, according to the CVB.
