Michigan City-based General Insurance Services is rebranding itself Highstreet Insurance & Financial Services.
General Insurance Services joined Traverse City, Michigan-based Highstreet Insurance in 2023. Being part of Highstreet gave General Insurance Services the strength of over 180 agencies. The company can offer more insurance providers and more access to insurance and finance specialists. The company also has additional policy and family, home and business coverage options.
General Insurance Services was established in the 1930s in La Porte. The company ventured into Michigan City in the 1940s. Over the next five decades, General Insurance Services grew through acquisitions and mergers. In 1994, it opened its first Porter County office in Chesterton and later moved to Valparaiso.
Rebranded as Highstreet Insurance & Financial Services, the company has offices in La Porte, Michigan City and Valparaiso.
