Wightman helps upgrade Pinebrook Drain in Berrien County

Benton Harbor, Michigan-based Wightman was part of a group effort to improve water management in the Berrien County area in Michigan.

The Pinebrook Drain was upgraded in an effort to better move stormwater throughout the system.

“Our team enjoyed being a part of upgrading this system that was causing many issues for local residents,” said Melanie Stanage, project manager at Wightman, in a press release. “The project included multiple phases, and we were able to address problems in several areas of the drainage district. The overall system now manages the stormwater in a much more effective way.”

The Berrien County Drain Commission is hosting a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. July 23 at the new pond, 754 Manitou, St. Joseph, to mark the significance of the infrastructure project.

“We are excited to unveil the new Pinebrook Drain, a testament to our commitment to sustainable water management and community resilience,” said Christopher Quattrin, Berrien County drain commissioner. “This project represents a significant investment in our infrastructure, ensuring that our community remains safe and vibrant for generations to come.”
