DexKo Global names new CEO

Eric McGinnis was appointed chief executive officer of Novi, Michigan-based DexKo Global as part of its long-term succession planning process.

DexKo is the parent company of Dexter, an axle and gear manufacturerer that has locations in Bristol, Elkhart, Osceola and Mishawaka.

McGinnis replaces longtime CEO Fred Bentley, who will transition to chairman of the board and senior adviser to Brookfield Asset Management's Private Equity Group. Brookfield purchased DexKo from KPS Capital Patners in 2021 for $3.4 billion. DexKo was founded in 2015 when Dexter and AL-KO Vehicle Technology merged.

Bentley was a founding leader of DexKo, and was CEO for more than 10 years.

“DexKo is a strong and well-positioned company, and the time is right to transition leadership as part of our long-term succession planning,” said Bentley in a press release. “Eric brings a proven track record of driving performance in complex global industrial businesses, and I have full confidence in his ability to lead DexKo forward.”

McGinnis most recently was the corporate officer and president of climate solutions at Modine Manufacturing Co. in Racine, Wisconsin.

“I'm honored to join DexKo at such an exciting time,” McGinnis said. “The company has a strong foundation, talented teams and a clear focus on customers. I look forward to working with the team to build on that momentum and continue strengthening the business.”

DexCo employs about 7,000 people in 50 facilities and 70 distribution centers.
