Beacon Health celebrates Mayo Clinic partnership

Beacon Health System is celebrating its 10th year as a member of Mayo Clinic Care Network. The partnership was a first in Indiana and gives doctors the opportunity to consult with Mayo Clinic experts.

Beacon medical staff has consulting with Mayo Clinic specialists more than 3,000 times since then during eConsults.

“Over the past 10 years, being part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network has brought tremendous value to our patients and our physicians,” said Michelle Bache, vice president of medical affairs at Elkhart General Hospital, in a press release. “It has connected patients facing complex diagnoses with world-class expertise close to home and meaningfully enriched our medical staff. The value of this membership continues to grow stronger each year, ultimately helping us fulfill our Beacon mission of delivering outstanding care, inspiring health and connecting with heart.”

eConsults allow Beacon doctors to consult with Mayo Clinic specialists on complex cases.

“Beacon Health System’s commitment to the health of the people and community it serves closely aligns with Mayo Clinic’s focus on putting the needs of patients first,” said Mark Larson, medical director of the central region of the Mayo Clinic Platform.

Beacon Health System employs almost 11,000 associates and 2,500 medical providers.
