Zoo to host drink sampling event

The Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend will host Brew at the Zoo on Sept. 21.

Brew at the Zoo is for adults 21 and older. Over 35 beer, wine, hard seltzer and hard cider vendors will be at the zoo to share samples of their products.

Vendors include local and regional breweries like South Bend Brew Werks, Bare Hands, Silver Harbor Brewing and Great Lakes. There will also be national brands such as Angry Orchard and Leinenkugel. Non-alcoholic options like Calypso Lemonade and Jones Soda will also be available.

Food vendors, including The Dog Lb., Franky’s Tacos, Puffles Creamery and Keim’s Elephant Ears, will be located around the zoo. All current vendors are listed on the Brew at the Zoo website.

“Not only will we have beer and wine tastings, but this will be a fun event across the entire zoo,” said Josh Sisk, Potawatomi Zoo executive director, in a press release. “We love giving our adult visitors a chance to experience the zoo in a different way, and Brew at the Zoo is a long-time tradition in this community.”

The event will feature musical guests BLAMMO and Jake from Starheart. The zoo will also provide TV screens to watch the Notre Dame football game.

Brew at the Zoo will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Brew After Party goes from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets include zoo admission, a sampling cup, drink samples, rides on the Potawatomi Zoo Express and Endangered Species Carousel and snacks. Learn more here.
