THK Law names new partner

THK Law, LLP announced the promotion of Elizabeth “Libby” Klesmith to partner.

“Her dedication to her clients, legal acumen and deep commitment to the South Bend community embody the values we strive for at THK,” said Eric Seigel, managing partner, in a press release. “Libby’s leadership and contributions have strengthened our team, and we look forward to her continued success in this new role.”

Klesmith joined THK Law in 2014 after earning her law degree from Notre Dame Law School. She earned a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Grand Valley State University. Klesmith has experience with civil litigation, insurance defense, real estate law and trademark law. She has represented clients in a variety of matters, including medical malpractice, contract disputes, employment defense and real estate transactions.

Klesmith is admitted to practice law in Indiana and Michigan, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the Western District of Michigan.

Klesmith currently serves as the chair-elect of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section. She is also involved with the American Bar Association, the St. Joseph County Bar Association and the Cass County Bar Association.

Her accomplishments have earned recognition from Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America and The Indiana Lawyer as Leadership in Law – Up and Coming Lawyer honoree in 2023. Klesmith earned a spot in the Michiana Forty Under 40 Class of 2020 for her professional achievements and community involvement.

Klesmith is a past board member and current volunteer and committee member of the South Bend Civic Theatre. She participates in the Junior League of South Bend, the Young Professionals Network, Reins of Life and the Youth Service Bureau. Klesmith also mentors Notre Dame Law School students.

THK Law's practice areas include business counsel, estate and tax planning, trust administration, elder law and litigation. The firm is based out of South Bend and Elkhart, Indiana and Cassopolis, Michigan.
