Former magistrate judge joins THK Law

The South Bend-based law firm THK Law recently announced that Andre Gammage has joined the firm as Of Counsel.

Gammage brings with him over three decades of legal experience. He will focus his practice in the areas of business law, civil litigation and mediation.

Gammage most recently served as magistrate judge for the St. Joseph Circuit Court, presiding over civil and criminal matters for more than 12 years. He also held roles as deputy prosecutor, public defender and managing partner at a local law firm. During the course of his career, Gammage served as lead counsel or presided over more than 300 trials.

“Andre brings not only legal depth, but also a strong sense of community connection and leadership to our firm,” said Eric Seigel, THK Law managing partner, in a press release. “His experience on the bench, in the classroom and in the courtroom will be a tremendous asset to our clients and our team.”

Gammage is a graduate of Valparaiso University and Valparaiso University Law School. He has served on committees for the Indiana Supreme Court and Indiana Court of Appeals and is certified as a mediator. Gammage currently teaches intensive trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Notre Dame Law School.

Gammage is also engaged with the community. He has served organizations such as the YMCA of Greater Michiana, Urban League of St. Joseph County and the South Bend Redevelopment Authority. Gammage is a co-founder of Leaders and Positive Role Models and a frequent speaker and moderator on topics related to public safety and youth empowerment.

Gammage is licensed to practice in Indiana, as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the Western District of Michigan.

THK Law's practice areas include business counsel, estate and tax planning, trust administration, elder law and litigation. The firm has offices in South Bend and Elkhart, Indiana and Cassopolis, Michigan.
