Michigan City-based Horizon Bank recognized eight advisors for their community service and leadership.
Krysta Loucks, Jennifer Shoup, Donna Willis and Jennifer Wilson received the Go Beyond Community Service Award. Brian Balmer, Steve Hawkins, Karen Stemley and Mahendra Verma received the Beyond Ordinary Leadership Award.
The Go Beyond Community Service Award winners include:
- Krysta Loucks, operational risk specialist, was recognized for community service. She participated in the Tour De La Porte, Run for Hope, Dragon Boat Race and Riley Middle School Walk-A-Thon. “I would like to share this award with all of the La Porte County advisors who have always answered the call to volunteer to make a difference,” Loucks said in a press release.
- Jennifer Shoup, vice president, district manager, was honored for community service. She volunteered with the La Porte Health Foundation, Play for Jake Foundation and Salvation Army.
- Donna Willis, assistant vice president, branch manager, was honored for community service. She was involved with the Cadillac Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club and Habitat for Humanity.
- Jennifer Wilson, assistant vice president, branch manager, was recognized for community service. She participated in multiple events and received the Franklin Chamber of Commerce’s Community Impact Award. “When we actively engage with others in our community, volunteer, join local organizations, we foster meaningful relationships and a sense of belonging,” Wilson said.
The Beyond Ordinary Leadership Award winners include:
- Brian Balmer, vice president, district manager was honored for his commitment to the Lafayette area team, clients and community. “This recognition is a testament to the collective effort and commitment of our entire team,” Balmer said.
- Steve Hawkins, vice president, commercial loan workout officer, was recognized for managing challenges and communicating effectively. “It’s an honor to receive this award and to be part of such an amazing team,” Hawkins said. “Working together to tackle challenges and reach our goals has been incredibly rewarding.”
- Karen Stemley, branch manager at Horizon’s Merrillville location, was honored for her dedication to her team and commitment to excellence. “My team’s hard work, dedication, and support make every day rewarding and fulfilling,” Stemley said. “Together, we’ve faced challenges and achieved remarkable success.”
- Mahendra Verma, vice president, network engineering manager, was recognized for his problem-solving skills and communication. “I am grateful for this award as well as the management’s continuous trust and support,” Verma said. “All their encouragement means the world to me.”
