Quilt Gardens exhibition to expand

Elkhart County’s Quilt Gardens and Quilt Murals event will feature three new sites in 2025.

The exhibition will feature 16 Quilt Gardens and 12 Quilt Murals for residents and visitors to enjoy. The event celebrates community spirit, quilting heritage, natural beauty and creativity. It opens May 30, 2025.

The new Quilt Gardens will be at Farmstead Inn & Conference Center and Weaver Furniture Sales in Shipshewana and Grandma’s Pantry in Wakarusa.

“We’re excited to welcome all of the new Quilt Gardens and the dedicated volunteers who will be caring for them,” said Jon Hunsberger, Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau executive director, in a press release. “The Quilt Gardens draws tens of thousands of visitors every year to the Elkhart County area, creating memories with their friends and families and spending money at our local businesses.”

Shipshewana is returning to the Quilt Gardens attraction after an absence of multiple years with quilts outside The Farmstead Inn & Conference Center and at Weaver Furniture Sales.

“Shipshewana welcomes thousands of quilters and gardeners annually to the heart of Amish Country each year,” Sonya Nash, Shipshewana/LaGrange County Convention & Visitors Bureau executive director, said. “We’re looking forward to inviting and welcoming even more by participating in the Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail project.”

The Quilt Gardens and Quilt Murals are located along the Heritage Trail. The Heritage Trail is a 90-mile guided audio tour that connects Elkhart, Bristol, Middlebury, Shipshewana, Goshen, Nappanee and Wakarusa.
