Louisville Tile acquires American Olean Midwest

Louisville Tile acquired American Olean Midwest, which has a location in South Bend.

The Louisville, Kentucky-based company is a distributor of ceramic, porcelain and natural stone tile. The acquisition of American Olean Midwest, which is based in Chicago, will enhance Louisville Tiles’ distribution network in the Midwest.

“With the consolidation of American Olean Midwest’s Chicago and South Bend branches into our existing branches, we have become the defacto market leader in both markets and the dominant player in the Midwest region,” said Matthew Saltzman, CEO of Louisville Tile, in a press release.

The acquisition is the second in a year and expands Louisville Tile’s reach into nine states at 17 branches.

“The integration of American Olean Midwest aligns perfectly with our growth strategy, enabling us to provide an unmatched level of service and product variety to our customers and clients in South Bend,” Saltzman said.

American Olean Midwest, which began in 1998, has six sales service centers in five states. It is a wholesale ceramic tile distributor.

“We could not think of a better partner or more natural fit,” said Craig Campbell, president of American Olean Midwest. “We wanted to land our employees and customers in the very best hands possible, and with the depth of product and team that Louisville Tile brings to the table. We have done that.”

Louisville Tile, which was founded in 1955, is family owned. It also acquired Mid America Tile in October 2022. It has grown by 24 employees for a total of 290 employees companywide.
