Goshen Health joins Parkview Health

Goshen Health officially became part of Parkview Health on Oct. 1.

A letter of intent was announced earlier this year, and in June, the health organizations signed an affiliation agreement.

Goshen Health's 37 facilities will transition to Parkview Health branding during a transition period. Appointments, insurance acceptance and other services will remain the same as the two systems merge. Now Parkview Goshen Hospital, the main facility is at 200 High Park Ave.

“This is about growing and expanding our clinical capabilities to meet the healthcare needs of the region for the future,” said Randy Christophel, president and chief executive officer of Goshen Health, in a press release. “Goshen Health has proudly served this community for more than a century, and this partnership allows us to build on that legacy by expanding services, investing in technology and ensuring patients continue receiving high-quality care close to home.”

Leaders from both systems said a shared mission and values cemented the decision to combine forces.

“Goshen Health has built a strong legacy of exceptional care in Elkhart County,” said Dr. Ray Dusman, president of physician and clinical enterprise at Parkview Health. “We are honored to welcome their nearly 2,000 colleagues, along with the patients they serve, and look forward to building on that foundation together.”

Parkview Health based in Fort Wayne manages 15 hospitals and more than 17,500 team members. Learn more about the transition here.
