Goshen Health recently celebrated the opening of its new Goshen Physicians Family Medicine in Wakarusa.
The expansion marks the 27th location for Goshen Physicians, and Goshen Health's 16th primary care office.
Randy Christophel, Goshen Health president and CEO, led the ribbon cutting ceremony. Chaplain Donnie Johnson blessed the new medical facility. Town officials and representatives from Goshen Physicians and the Wakarusa Chamber of Commerce attended the event.
“Expanding our primary care services into Wakarusa reflects our deep belief that accessible, preventive care is the cornerstone of lifelong health,” Christophel said in a press release. “We're proud to be a part of fostering wellness and making it easier for the community to get the care they need, when they need it.”
The physicians for the Wakarusa practice are Dr. Malinda Lasater and Dr. Tricia Foster. Lasater is relocating from Goshen Physicians Family Medicine in Nappanee. Foster will be practicing one day a week in the Wakarusa office and will remain at the Nappanee location for the remainder of the week.
The new 2,500-square-foot facility features three exam rooms and a phlebotomy room.
Goshen Physicians Family Medicine Wakarusa is at 121 E. Waterford St.
