Goodwill announces veteran events

South Bend-based Goodwill Industries of Michiana is hosting six military veteran Stand Down events across the Region.

Events will take place in St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, Porter and La Porte Counties.

Goodwill’s Veteran’s Resource Network connects service members, veterans, their families and their caregivers to community resources. The community programs provide support to homeless, at-risk and unemployed veterans. Events offer food, clothing, medical care, mental health resources and job counseling.

“Through the generosity of our community – including those who shop at and donate to Goodwill – we can continue to empower veterans with critical resources to build brighter futures,” said Jill Powers, Goodwill’s Veterans Resource Network manager, in a press release. “We are thrilled to be hosting six Stand Downs this year, to connect more veterans and their families with the support they need.”
