Breeze Airways’ third nonstop flight from South Bend International Airport took off for Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers today.
To celebrate, passengers on the inaugural flight were treated to a gate party including cookies, beach balls and photo opportunities.
“We are thrilled for Breeze to offer another nonstop option to get travelers to the beaches of Southwest Florida,” said Mike Daigle, South Bend Airport CEO and executive director, in a press release.
The flight to Fort Myers will operate Wednesdays and Saturdays seasonally through April 26, 2025.
“Fort Myers becomes our third destination added from South Bend since November and we look forward to even more growth in the future,” David Neeleman, Breeze Airways CEO and founder, said.
In addition to Fort Myers, Breeze Airways flies year-round to Orlando International Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport from South Bend. Those flights began in November 2024.
South Bend International Airport has five air carriers. They provide nonstop flights to sixteen destinations with connections worldwide. South Bend International’s multi-modal terminal serves more than one million air and rail passengers annually.
