Regional partnership makes leadership changes

The South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership recently announced several promotions and new hires.

Leadership changes at the regional organization include:

  • Liz Folkerts was promoted to director of marketing and communications. In her new role, Folkerts will elevate the visibility of the partnership’s initiatives. She will help to ensure consistent communication across diverse platforms and share the story of the South Bend – Elkhart region. During her tenure at the partnership, Folkerts has played a key role in advancing the organization’s communication strategies.
  • Lauren Thomas was promoted to director of talent initiatives. In her new expanded role, Thomas will spearhead initiatives focused on workforce development, talent attraction and retention in the South Bend – Elkhart region.
  • Martin Mechtenberg is stepping into the role of senior director of entrepreneurship and industry innovation. Mechtenberg will lead efforts to foster a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. He will guide initiatives to support startups, small businesses and innovation-driven projects in the Region.
  • Lori Flotow was promoted to manager of operations and executive assistant. Flotow will manage day-to-day operations and provide executive-level support to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization.

South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership has also hired three new managers:

  • Stephanie Hamsher will serve as manager of DEI programs.
  • Alayna Wort will be the new manager for talent development programs in June.
  • Angela Workman will be the READI finance manager in September.

“These team changes position the South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership for continued success as we work to strengthen the region’s economy and improve the quality of life for residents,” said Bethany Hartley, the partnership’s president and CEO, in a press release. “Each of these individuals brings a wealth of experience, passion and commitment to their roles, and we are confident that their contributions will further our mission and foster a proud, connected and equipped region.”

The South Bend-Elkhart Regional Partnership is a collaboration of local economic development organizations, businesses and community leaders. They work together to foster a thriving and innovative economy in the South Bend-Elkhart region.
