HealthLinc expands clinic

Valparaiso-based HealthLinc, a federally qualified health center, has remodeled the unused portion of its Mishawaka clinic, at 420 W. 4th St.

The renovation allows for expanded health care services for residents of St. Joseph County. The renovation was made possible with support from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, 1st Source Foundation, Larsen Danielson and other donors.

The expanded clinic creates a dedicated space for women’s health/OB services, behavioral health, optometry and chiropractic care. The space will also serve as a training site for HealthLinc’s Behavioral Health Residency Program.

“Our newly remodeled clinic provides a welcoming and modern space where patients can feel supported and cared for,” said Melissa Mitchell, HealthLinc CEO, in a press release. “It’s a positive environment that reflects our commitment to delivering the best possible care to our community.”

This expansion is expected to increase visits by 14,000 in 2026, benefiting about 4,667 additional patients. The new facility features 26 exam rooms, a classroom, a conference room and increased staffing, including providers and support staff.

“This renovated space will provide invaluable resources to residents of the Mishawaka community,” Matt Vessely, 1st Source Bank West Region president, said. “We are proud to support the work they are doing to serve individuals with a whole-person approach to health care.”
