Voyager Safety Systems will debut a new monitor for commercial vehicles at two spring industry events.
The 10-inch in-cab touchscreen and safety system will be presented at the TEA Work Truck Week in Indianapolis and CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas.
Voyager Safety Systems is a division of ASA Electronics, based in Elkhart.
The safety system was developed to bring passenger-vehicle technology to commercial vehicles, making it easier for fleet operators to deploy. It consolidates safety features into one monitor.
“Commercial vehicles are becoming more sophisticated, but the driver’s job should not become more complicated,” said Joe Camacho, vice president of heavy duty and commercial vehicles at ASA Electronics, in a press release.
The safety system will offer:
- Blind spot detection with side-mirror alerts
- 360-degree camera visibility
- Rear cross-traffic alert while reversing
- Proximity sensor notifications
- Digital video recording stored to onboard SD card
- System health notifications such as tire pressure monitoring
“Our all-in-one platform works autonomously behind the scenes, delivering the right information at the right time so drivers can stay focused on the road,” Camacho said. “Safety is what we do, and this system represents our commitment to making advanced protection feel seamless and intuitive.”
The monitor should be available later this year.
