This year's Latin Business Expo included 65 exhibitors and vendors at the Sept. 10 event at the Northern Indiana Event Center in Elkhart.
Yolo López DeMarco coordinates the event every year. About 500 people came to the expo.
“These are great numbers considering the stressful political climate,” she said in an email.
Elkhart Mayor Rod Roberson Mayor and Goshen Mayor Gina Leichty were among the 108 luncheon guests.
Monitas Creations, a startup bakery, said they booked orders for the next three weeks. Memorable Photo Booth was contracted for a quinceñera and a birthday party.
Businesses from all employment levels were welcomed whether they were Latin-owned businesses or not. According to the U.S. Small Business Administration Office of Advocacy, 36% off business launched in the U.S. are Latin owned. They also account for $800 billion in annual revenue and employ almost 3 million workers.
Workshops followed the expo, including “How to Prepare for a Personal and Business Financial Emergency” scheduled for Oct. 6.
