CPA Barry Hall landed a spot on Forbes' inaugural America’s Top 200 CPAs list.
The managing partner at Kruggel Lawton CPAs based in South Bend was one of only three Indiana professionals to make the list.
The list features 200 of the top CPAs in the country after almost a year of research by a Forbes' editorial team. More than 1,000 CPAs were considered.
“CPA firms need to be Swiss army knives, a one-stop shop for clients. … It is no longer a situation where you can provide just assurance; clients are looking for advice on strategic planning,” said listmaker Satpal Nagpal, audit practice leader at GHJ in Los Angeles, in a Forbes' statement.
Candidates were evaluated by the following criteria: professional certifications, credentials and achievements; longevity; industry specialization; involvement in community; thought leadership; diversity of clients; compliance, and use of innovation and technology.
Candidates do not pay to be considered for the list.
