Comcast opens Xfinity Store in South Bend

Comcast celebrated the grand opening Feb. 19 of a new Xfinity Store in South Bend.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller joined the ribbon cutting at at 4615 Miami St. near the Erskine Village Shopping Center.

“We’re pleased to welcome an Xfinity Store to South Bend, which will bring everyday services closer to our residents and businesses,” said South Bend Mayor James Mueller in a press release. “We appreciate Comcast’s investment in our city’s future and their ongoing commitment to advancing digital opportunity.”

Customers will be able to return and pickup equipment and receive product demonstrations either by walking in or making an appointment here.

“Our new Xfinity Store enhances how we serve South Bend by providing convenient access to our products and services through a dedicated local team,” said Chris Smith, Comcast’s Greater Chicago region senior vice president. “We’re also excited to deepen our community investment through grants to the South Bend Education Alliance and South Bend Code School, whose work empowers students with essential digital skills.”

Comcast awarded $17,500 in total to the organizations during the ceremony.

“This grant allows us to reach more students and deepen our hands‑on coding and technology programs,” said Emily Sims, director of partnerships and development at the South Bend Code School. “We’re grateful for Comcast’s commitment to closing the digital divide and supporting computer science for youth, adults and educators in South Bend.”

Comcast has donated $3 million in the last three years through its Project UP campaign, a $1 billion initiative that focuses on decreasing the digital divide.

Xfinity also has stores in Granger and Elkhart.
