In 2016, the Elkhart company changed ownership and its name after more than 50 years as Polytron. Matt Kain has been leading Poly Electronics for the past 10 years.
Since then, a new generation of entrepreneurs has brought a new vision to the global electronics manufacturing company.
“Over the last decade, Poly Electronics has fundamentally changed who we are and how we serve our customers,” said Kain, president of Poly Electronics, in a press release. “We’ve honored the foundation built since 1973 while investing aggressively in our people and our technology.”
Now they design and build components for more than 100 customers in various industries worldwide.
“We are expanding our physical footprint here in Northern Indiana and, in 2025, added a second State-of-the-art SMT production line to further enhance our capacity, precision, and ability to serve new and emerging markets,” Kain said.
The company invested in a second Surface Mount Technology assembly line in 2025. Two Yamaha YSM pick-and-place machines are each capable of placing up to 90,000 components per hour. The system was on track to reduce lead times from 12 to about 4 weeks by the end of 2025.
Poly Electronics also supports organizations that help build the community where their employees live, work and play.
“Our goal is not only to build high-quality electronics, but to help build a strong future for our teammates, customers, community, region, state and stakeholders,” Kain said.
Poly Electronics manufactures PCB assembly, inspection and test solutions.
