Elkhart-based Leer Group will transition its Mexico-based truck-cap and window and door production back to the United States.
Production from Leer’s operations for Se-Gi Products in Rosarito, Mexico, has begun transitioning to its State Wide Windows facility in Elkhart. Leer anticipates adding new jobs to the State Wide Windows operations as part of the transition.
Leer will transition its truck-cap manufacturing based in Mexicali, Mexico, across its U.S.-based truck-cap operations. The transition will take place effective immediately. Leer anticipates adding jobs to each of its truck-cap facilities as a result.
Leer said both transitions are part of an initiative to enhance operational efficiencies, product quality and customer experience.
“Combined, these transitions are a game-changer for us, representing a major investment in our U.S.-based manufacturing and helping us to continue delivering the high-quality products our customers expect,” said Alan Farash, Leer Group president and CEO, in a Work Truck Magazine article. “They will also allow us to take full advantage of the skilled workforce available here in Indiana and throughout our U.S. operations.”
Leer Group manufactures fiberglass and aluminum truck caps, retractable truck bed covers and sliding cargo tray systems. The company’s key brands are Leer, Century, SnugTop, Pace Edwards and Bedslide. Leer Group has over 1,200 independent dealers across North America.
