Bay Motor Products acquires Assembly Masters

Calder Capital announced the successful acquisition of Elkhart-based Assembly Masters by Bay Motor Products.

Bay Motor Products is based in Traverse City, Michigan.

Assembly Masters manufactures custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies. The company serves customers in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

To secure a successor as they approached retirement, Assembly Masters co-owners Deb Walters and Larry “Joe” Gennicks engaged Calder Capital's Sell-Side team.

“After over two decades of building Assembly Masters, Joe and I knew it was time to transition the business to new ownership,” Walters said in a press release. “Finding a buyer who values our employees and the culture we’ve cultivated was essential. We believe Bay Motor Products is the right fit to carry our legacy forward.”

Founded in 1982, Bay Motor Products manufactures electric motors and blowers for various industries, including HVAC, food equipment and industrial applications. The company recently expanded into the aerospace industry.

“Acquiring Assembly Masters aligns perfectly with our long-term strategic vision,” Andy Robitshek, Bay Motor Products president, said. “Their expertise in cable assemblies and wire harnesses complements our existing capabilities, allowing us to offer even more integrated solutions to our customers.”

Jakob Simonds served as the lead mergers and acquisitions advisor to Assembly Masters.

“Deb and Joe built a fantastic business, and we were honored to help them find the right buyer to continue their legacy,” Simonds said.
