South Bend-based AM General will display its new Joint Light Tactical Vehicle at the International Defense Exhibition Feb. 17-21.
IDEX will take place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates.
“IDEX is a leading military exhibition which enables us to connect with our global customers and discuss how we can meet their evolving needs to support the warfighter,” said John Chadbourne, AM General executive vice president, in a press release.
Chadbourne added that the company is proud to showcase the first AM General-built JLTV A2 so customers can the improvements.
In collaboration with the U.S. Army, AM General has implemented over 250 engineering changes to improve the vehicle. Changes include the reduction of interior and exterior noise levels, improved corrosion protection and improved fuel economy. The vehicle features a Hornet Air Guard Remote Controlled Weapon System to detect and neutralize drones.
Production of the JLTV A2 is underway. AM General will begin delivering the vehicle in the second quarter of 2025.
