Berrien Springs-based AJ’s Uptown Bar & Grill rebranded and launched as The Garage on Ferry Street.
The Dec. 9 event included a ribbon cutting celebration with the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber.
The restaurant has been under new ownership since April of 2024. The name change honors prior owners Roger and Lonna Johnson. Rick Moreci and William Ranick are the new owners.
“The Garage on Ferry Street is more than just a new name—it’s a fresh start that reflects our evolving identity,” Moreci said in a press release. “We’re excited to continue offering the same great service our customers know and love, with even more to look forward to. New name, new entertainment, same great atmosphere.”
The reimagined menu features new dishes and a specialty cocktail menu. The restaurant will host Movie Night Mondays, Trivia Tuesdays, Musical Bingo Thursdays and Karaoke Saturdays.
The restaurant’s relaunch event included a live DJ, promotional giveaways and signature cocktails.
“We are most excited about the many possibilities this new name will bring,” Moreci said. “While we’re updating our menu and offering fresh entertainment, we’re staying true to the core values of both Wolf’s Prairie and AJ’s Uptown, two beloved pillars of the Berrien Springs community.”
