Northwest Health – La Porte again earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national organization and advocate for patient safety. An “A” grade is the highest quality and safety measure available.
Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures. The criteria include errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.
“Recognition from nationally recognized review organizations, like the Leapfrog Group, provide affirmation that our hospitals are providing excellent care for our patients,” said Mark Casanova, Northwest Health – La Porte CEO, in a press release. “Our teams’ conscientious care, attention to patients’ needs and their focus on following best-practice safety guidelines contributed to this recognition.”
Leah Binder, Leapfrog Group president and CEO, extended her congratulations to Northwest Health – La Porte’s leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” Binder said.
