HealthLinc Mishawaka expands clinic, services

Valparaiso-based HealthLinc recently remodeled the unused portion of its Mishawaka clinic to expand health care services for underserved St. Joseph County residents.

The renovation was made possible by support from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County and private donors.

“Too often, health care access depends on where you live or what you earn,” said Aaron Perri, Community Foundation of St. Joseph County vice president, community impact, in a press release. “HealthLinc Mishawaka’s expansion will help change that by bringing high-quality, comprehensive care to people and families who’ve been underserved for too long.”

The expanded clinic creates a dedicated space for women’s health/OB services, behavioral health, optometry and chiropractic care. The space will also serve as a training site for HealthLinc’s Behavioral Health Residency Program.

The expansion is expected to add 14,000 visits by 2026, benefiting about 4,667 additional patients. The new facility will feature 26 exam rooms, a classroom, a conference room and increased staffing, including providers and support staff.

The community is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting 3 to 5 p.m. Sept. 24. Attendees can tour the clinic and meet providers and staff.

“This expansion reflects our deep commitment to meeting the community's growing needs,” Melissa Mitchell, HealthLinc CEO, said. “By transforming this space, we’re increasing access to vital services and investing in the future through innovative programs.”
