Beacon Health names president

Beacon Health System has appointed Kira Carter-Robertson president of Elkhart General Hospital, effective Nov. 3.

Carter-Robertson brings over two decades of health care leadership experience to her new role.

“It’s an honor to step into this role and join a team that is committed to excellence in patient safety, quality and engagement and partnership with the community,” Carter-Robertson said in a press release. “I look forward to connecting with team members, providers and community partners as we continue to grow and deliver exceptional care in the Region.”

Most recently, Carter-Robertson served as chief operating officer for University of Michigan Health – Sparrow, based in Lansing, Michigan. During her tenure, she advanced through senior leadership roles.

Carter-Robertson is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has been recognized with numerous honors for her contributions to the field. Her accolades include the Modern Healthcare's Up & Comers Award, the Leadership in Action Award from Career Mastered Magazine and honors from the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Carter-Robertson earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in health administration from Saint Louis University. She serves on several nonprofit and foundation boards.

Beacon Health System is a nonprofit health care system serving patients across northern Indiana and southwest Michigan. The health care network has nearly 11,000 associates and 2,500 medical staff providers.
