Notre Dame FCU names new VP

Notre Dame Federal Credit Union recently promoted Mireya Olvera to vice president, regional area manager.

Olvera began her career with the credit union in 2012, as a member service representative. Within a year, she was promoted to branch manager. Olvera became senior manager of business development in 2020, and area manager in 2022. 

During the pandemic, Olvera recognized a growing need for culturally relevant guidance. She produced Spanish language video tutorials on budgeting, payment relief options and fraud prevention, Olvera coached members facing financial uncertainty. Her outreach strengthened relationships with existing members and introduced many first-time members to Notre Dame FCU.

“Mireya embodies the heart of our mission,” said Robert Shane, Notre Dame FCU executive vice president of markets and growth, in a press release. “Her dedication to member service, community outreach and inclusive leadership has made a lasting impact on both our credit union and the communities we serve.”

Founded in 1941, Notre Dame Federal Credit Union has grown from its origins in the Administration Building at the University of Notre Dame. Today, the credit union serves over 66,000 members worldwide. Notre Dame Federal Credit Union is independent of the university.
