John Wingfield recently joined Notre Dame Federal Credit Union as senior vice president of commercial lending.
A South Bend native and U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Wingfield will be based in the Michiana region. He brings experience in commercial banking, business development and real estate finance to his new role.
“John’s depth of experience and community ties will strengthen our commercial lending efforts across the Region,” said Tom Gryp, Notre Dame FCU president/CEO, in a press release. “His values also closely align with our mission to put people over profit.”
Wingfield earned his bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in political science from Indiana University. He served ten years in the U.S. Coast Guard, specializing in search and rescue and federal law enforcement.
Wingfield currently serves on several boards including the South Bend Foundation, the South Bend History Museum and The Uncommon Grit Foundation.
In 2018, Wingfield was named to the Michiana 40 Under 40 list for leadership and service.
Notre Dame Federal Credit Union serves over 66,000 members worldwide. The credit union was founded in 1941. Notre Dame Federal Credit Union is independent of the university.
