Everwise names VP

South Bend-based Everwise Credit Union has appointed Kyle Pierce as vice president, information security.

Pierce will oversee Everwise’s information security operations and risk teams. He will work to shape strategic priorities around information security governance. Pierce will also partner with business leaders to ensure safe, seamless and informed technology adoption.

Pierce brings over two decades of cybersecurity and IT experience to the role. He most recently led data security and business information security programs at Marriott International. In those roles, he oversaw cross-functional security teams supporting data security, advised senior business leaders on risk reduction strategies and helped embed security practices into business units.

Prior to that, Pierce designed and implemented security and IT solutions, information security governance models and security controls for regulated financial and manufacturing organizations.

“Kyle brings a rare blend of deep technical insight and practical business alignment,” said Dan Rousseve, Everwise Credit Union chief information officer, in a press release. “His leadership will help us strengthen protection of our systems and member data, while also enabling our teams to innovate confidently and responsibly.”

Pierce earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Valparaiso University and a master’s degree in information security & assurance from Norwich University. He has also earned multiple professional certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Certified Cloud Security Professional, Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, GIAC Security Essentials, Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional and completion of the Cyber Leadership Program through the Cyber Leadership Institute.

Everwise Credit Union operates 50 branches throughout Indiana and southwest Michigan. It serves about 300,000 members. Everwise Credit Union was founded in 1931.
