Centier names new branch manager

Merrillville-based Centier Bank promoted Suzy Witek to manager of its Michigan City branch at 5501 Franklin Street.

In her new role, Witek will oversee daily branch operations. Additional responsibilities include enhancing service for existing clients, generating new business and supporting Centier’s impact throughout the Region.

Witek joined Centier in 2011, as a client service representative in La Porte. Two years later, she transitioned to the Chesterton South branch as a universal banker, focusing on new accounts. With the opening of Centier’s Michigan City branch in 2019, Witek relocated to La Porte County to serve as a universal banker until her promotion to assistant branch manager in 2021.

“My journey with Centier has been nothing short of rewarding, and I feel incredibly fortunate to love the bank I work for and the team I am a part of,” Witek said in a press release. “I am excited to continue serving this community and leading our impressive branch team as they help local businesses and residents turn financial goals into reality.”

Carla Houck, Centier Bank vice president, regional sales manager, said Witek’s contributions to Centier have been invaluable.

“Suzy’s retail banking expertise and fervent dedication to strengthening the communities she lives and works in are not only a reflection of Centier’s core values, but a key driver of her leadership success,” Houck said. “I look forward to the impact she will have on our branch team and clients.”

Witek is an active member of the Michigan City community, volunteering with local organizations and attending community events and fundraisers.
