Beacon Health System placed the final beam on a new 10-story patient tower Oct. 10, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Beacon Health System employees, officials and South Bend Regional Chamber of Commerce members gathered to watch and celebrate the event.
With the final structural beam in place, Memorial Hospital’s expansion is one step closer to completion. The investment will bring expanded health care services and new job opportunities to the Region.
Following the enclosure of the tower, interior work will begin. Construction will continue until Memorial Hospital welcomes its first patients into the building in fall 2026.
