The Leep Automotive Family Foundation is making sure students can go on field trips to Potawatomi Zoo. A three-grant will support the zoo's educational assistance program.
The EAP offers field trip scholarships that also pay for transportation. About 2,000 students will have the chance to visit the South Bend zoo without having to pay with the help of Leep.
“Introducing children to the zoo is one of our most important goals and significant parts of our missions,” aid Josh Sisk, executive director of the Potawatomi Zoo, in a press release. “Thanks to the Leep Automotive Family Foundation, we’re able to extend a meaningful Zoo experience to even more kids this year.”
Field trip scholarships also will include tickets for additional attractions and a snack bag for participating students.
“Most of us can still remember the excitement of a field trip as a kid,” said Mike Leep Jr., president of the Gurley Leep Automotive Family. “A trip to the Potawatomi Zoo is one of those experiences that brings learning to life. We want to help make sure more students have access to those moments by removing the barriers that might stand in the way.”
EAP scholarships for the 2026 season have been awarded. Applications for next year will open early in 2027. Learn more about the scholarships and group school rates here.
