Ben’s Soft Pretzels is celebrating National Pretzel Day with free pretzels for customers who donate $1 or more to Tunnel to Towers.
The fundraiser kicks off at noon April 26 at locations in Hammond, Highland, Gary, Merrillville, Portage and Valparaiso. The promotion will end at 6 p.m. at most locations.
“Beyond the buttery goodness, National Pretzel Day at Ben’s Soft Pretzels is about making a difference,” said a press release. “This year, we’re proud to partner with Tunnel to Towers, an organization dedicated to supporting first responders and military heroes.”
Tunnel to Towers Foundation helps first responders and their families by building houses adapted for those injured serving the country. The nonprofit, which began as a result of the Sept. 11, 2001, World Trade Center tragedy, also is committed to ending homelessness for veterans.
“National Pretzel Day is our chance to give back to the men and women that have embraced us,” said Brian Krider, partner of Ben’s Soft Pretzels, in a press release. “By donating, our customers not only enjoy a delicious pretzel but also contribute to our veterans and their families. It’s a win-win, and we can’t wait to see smiles all around!”
Elkhart-based Ben’s Soft Pretzels was founded in 2008 and now has locations throughout the U.S.
