Community partners recently gathered to celebrate the opening of the Lakeview Drive Apartments in Goshen.
Representatives from Lacasa, the Goshen Chamber of Commerce, the City of Goshen, IHCDA, Oaklawn and Bashor Children’s Home shared remarks during the ribbon cutting ceremony. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the spaces in the affordable housing community, learn about the project and engage in conversation about housing in the community.
The project brings together a network of partners providing on-site support and services. The first building will offer permanent supportive housing for individuals who benefit from stable, long-term housing paired with access to services provided by Oaklawn. The second building, developed in partnership with Bashor Children’s Home, provides safe and stable housing for youth transitioning out of the foster care system.
In addition to wraparound services, new residents will receive essential home goods — including bedding and kitchen items —donated by ReStore Church. All buildings are equipped with high-speed WiFi provided by Surf Internet, ensuring residents can stay connected for work, education, health care and community support.
Lacasa's service partners for Lakeview Drive Apartments will support residents by helping them connect with employment, wraparound services and existing public or private assistance programs if needed.
“Every door we open at Lakeview Drive Apartments represents a new beginning, a chance for stability, dignity and belonging,” said Jeremy Stutsman, Lacasa president and CEO, in a press release. “These homes are more than buildings; they are the foundation for brighter futures,” Stutsman said. “When our community comes together, hope becomes something you can touch, see and live in.”
