Elkhart-based Surf Internet celebrated the completion of 200,000 fiber-optic internet passings across Indiana, Illinois and Michigan.
An internet passing refers to homes and businesses where service is now available. The milestone marks a doubling of the company’s reach across the Great Lakes region since November 2023.
“We’re not just building infrastructure—we’re building the future of connectivity for our communities,” said Brent Williams, Surf Internet chief operating officer, in a press release. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our entire team, and it energizes us to keep pushing forward.”
Surf Internet marks its 25th anniversary this year. The company plans to reach an additional 75,000 addresses by the end of 2025.
Surf Internet delivers high-speed internet to homes and businesses in underserved, rural communities. The company has offices in Elkhart and La Porte, Indiana; Byron Center and Fowlerville, Michigan; and Coal City, Naperville and Rock Falls, Illinois.
