Over 100 guests gathered for Mammoth Solar’s annual farm-to-table dinner Oct. 24, in Starke County.
The event brought together residents, farmers, community leaders, agricultural partners and representatives from state offices. Guests enjoyed a locally sourced dinner featuring livestock and crops raised under solar panels at the Mammoth North Solar project site in Starke County.
Among the attendees were local officials and representatives from U.S. Senators Todd Young and Jim Banks’ offices, as well as State Representative and member of the Indiana House Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications Committee, Kendall Culp.
Rep. Culp provided remarks emphasizing the importance of integrating renewable energy into Indiana’s energy portfolio as part of the administration’s all-of-the-above approach to energy development.
The evening featured the announcement of a new partnership between Mammoth Solar and the American Solar Grazing Association. The collaboration will expand opportunities for managed grazing beneath solar panels. The approach promotes soil health and local agricultural productivity while supporting clean energy generation.
“Events like this demonstrate that strong partnerships between agriculture and energy production are not only possible, but also beneficial for both, as well as the local community,” said Kevin Parzyck, Doral Renewables senior vice president of development, in a press release.
This event marked the second farm-to-table event hosted by Mammoth Solar. The project’s team indicated they will likely host the event again next year.
