Startup South Bend – Elkhart marks milestones

Start Up South Bend – Elkhart recently launched season three of its Rooted & Reaching podcast and opened a new office in the Momentum Entrepreneurship Hub.

The entrepreneurship podcast features founders and innovators doing interesting things in the South Bend – Elkhart region.

“Today we’re celebrating more than just milestones – the launch of season three of the Rooted & Reaching podcast and the opening of Startup South Bend – Elkhart’s new office at the Momentum Entrepreneurship Hub both reflect the incredible momentum of our Region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” said Marty Mechtenberg, South Bend – Elkhart Regional Partnership senior director of entrepreneurship and innovation, in a press release. “These are platforms for connection, storytelling and innovation, and we’re excited to keep building spaces – both physical and digital – where founders can grow, be heard and thrive.”

The first two podcast episodes feature keynote speakers from April’s IDEA Week festival. In the first episode, host Mechtenberg chatted with Dr. Milad Alucozai, co-founder and general partner of Pamir Ventures. Alucozai was recognized this year as one of the top 100 early-stage investors by Business Insider Magazine. With a background as a neuroscientist, he is dedicated to leveraging his expertise in bioengineering, computational biology and machine learning to revolutionize translational research and development.

A Goshen native, Max Yoder joined Mechtenberg for the second episode of the season. Yoder is co-founder and former CEO of Lessonly, a training software company acquired by Seismic in 2021. He is the author of two books, Do Better Work and To See it, Be It.

New episodes launch every two weeks. Upcoming guests include Nik Akerman and Adam Noland of DoorBlockade, Chad Mastagh of Rides2U, Allie Shook of Marshall County Lifelong Learning, Smart Drain Pro’s David Sims and Sunjay Agtey from Nimbello.

The Startup South Bend – Elkhart satellite office at the Momentum Entrepreneurship Hub brings the entrepreneurship service organization to the new space where startups congregate. The new office will house resources for both Startup South Bend – Elkhart and IDEA Week.
