Indiana University South Bend conferred nearly 900 degrees during its 2025 Commencement Ceremony May 13.
Indiana University President Pamela Whitten and Indiana University South Bend Interim Deputy Chancellor Andy Williams presided over the event and addressed the graduates.
Chloe Garner, student body president, served as student keynote speaker. Garner was receiving her degree in criminal justice.
This year’s graduates ranged in age from 18 to 70 and included one set of twins.
At age 18, McKenna DeLaney, biology major, was the youngest graduate in the class of 2025. Jeff Sutter, 70, received a master’s degree. Twins Rachael, fine arts major, and Renae Schouten, psychology major, graduated together.
Commencement events started at 6:30 p.m. with a procession, followed by the official ceremony beginning at 7 p.m. Participants in the ceremony included graduates from December 2024 as well as May and August 2025.
