NECA gifts Michigan City chamber membership

The National Electrical Contractors Association of Northern Indiana recently gifted a yearlong Michigan City Chamber of Commerce membership.

The recipient, Selah Brooks, owns Phenomenal Photo Booth Co. The company provides photo booth services for corporate events, private parties, weddings and other occasions in Northwest Indiana. The business started as a hobby for Brooks.

“When I began my photo booth business, it was merely a vision, but thanks to NECA and the chamber’s support, this membership serves as an essential building block to turn that vision into reality,” Brooks said in a press release. “I am eager to engage with fellow chamber members, learn from their experiences and contribute to the vibrant business ecosystem that the chamber fosters.”

The chamber of commerce began the gift membership program in 2022. Investors in the chamber select a local minority-, woman- or veteran-owned business and provide them with a one-year chamber membership. The goal of the membership is to help small businesses connect with other chamber members, businesses and organizations.

“This is a great campaign, and we are grateful to have been connected with Phenomenal Photo Booth,” said Matt LaFree, NECA’s executive director. “We already booked them for our own event this coming spring and are excited for their continued success.”

The Michigan City Chamber of Commerce promotes economic growth in the Michigan City area. The chamber was founded over 100 years ago. About 32,000 people live in Michigan City.

The National Electrical Contractors Association is a professional trade association for electrical contracting firms. The association was founded in 1901. The chapter is based in Michigan City and serves Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan.
